What does a V8 Super car Driver do on his days off?
Go Karting of course at Kingston Park Raceway! Young Garry Jacobson of Pirtek racing was out in a class of his own as he hurtled around the Le mans track this past Monday in a very fast 60:45 seconds, placing himself up in the top 3 times of the year and by doing so qualified for a stint in the Twin Engine Race Kart which only comes out for for extraordinary racers like Garry!
He hit the track for the first of 2 warm ups and then a flyer to see where he would sit amongst the leader board full of greats like Ingal, Lowndes and Wincup.
His first lap was a steady pace and apart from a clip of the tyres in 7 he was on the money and as he approached the second lap we could see this was going to be a hot lap he was using all over the track and perfectly exiting each corner as he squeezed every ounce of power from those roaring Honda Engines. It was a mid 53 second lap and we just knew the best was yet to come. He drove the wheels off the kart in the last lap and never put a foot off line throughout the entire lap and came home 4 tenths quicker than the previous lap with a very impressive 53.106 second lap and the right to sit at number 6 on the all-time leader board. Great driving Garry and thanks for visiting Kingston Park Raceway!
