Good day and welcome to another Friday Night Challenge here at Kingston Park Raceway. The night kicked off with 36 drivers battling it out for the win in each race. As the night progressed the faster drivers were able to take their positions leading into the Super Final and they are as follows: Isaac Pilon, Braydon Bateman, Matty “Blue Shoes” Bennett, Martin Allen, Ben Spence & Beau Coplick.

It was great to see a lot of good quality competition turn out for Friday Night Challenge this week with some familiar faces as well as some new and keen drivers too.It’s time for the Super Final to get under way, the final 6 drivers follow the pace kart around the track and line up along the main straight in the two by two formation…these guys look ready to race.The lights go green and we’re under way!!!Peeling around turn 1 is Ben Spence as he takes the lead with Braydon Bateman in 2nd and Isaac Pilon a close 3rd, all racing hard and managing to hold position for a few laps. Braydon fighting hard to keep his position and Isaac fighting just as hard to take it away from him.

As the race progresses Ben Spence pulls out a good lead away from Braydon. With 3 laps to go Isaac Pilon manages to claw back some time with some consistent lap times and passes both Braydon and Ben to take the lead leaving Ben and Braydon side by side in 2nd and 3rd.The fight for 2nd & 3rd continues and suddenly Ben runs wide securing 2nd place for Braydon and Matt Bennet zips into 3rd. Sliding around the last few corners of the final lap and it is Isaac Pilon taking the chequered flag for the win followed by Braydon Bateman and Matt Bennet in 2nd & 3rd respectively.

What a night we had with ups and downs, excitement, drama and great to see some new faces taking part in Friday Night Challenge this week.What more could you ask for in the best karting event you can participate in outside of official competitive racing. With practice, 3 heats, the best drivers after all 3 heats going into a semi-final and then the best of the best going head to head for their shot at gold in the super final.
