Friday Night Challenge – 11-10-19
Good
evening and welcome back to another night of adrenaline fuelled action here at
Kingston Park Raceway’s Friday Night Challenge! It was a wet and wild ride out
here tonight with the rain just finishing up but still 19 drivers came out to
take up the added challenge of the wet conditions with only one of them able to
take home the top prize here tonight. The heats went by pretty quick and the
wet conditions getting the better of even some of our most seasoned drivers but
as always only the top 8 make it through and those 8 with a shot at the goal
tonight are Josh Wiffen, Bradley Harriman, Alex Rolley, David Ball, Peter
Harriman, Vlad.A Alyssa Ball and Taila.G. Now let’s dive right into tonight’s
main event.
Pace
kart in, green light on and off into turn one and straight into to turn 2 of
the Lemans Track, out comes Josh Wiffen leading the pack as they head into turn
3. Bradely Harriman most have forgotten about the wet conditions because he
spun himself out back at turn 2, he wasn’t the only one to forget as Taila G
has spun herself out at the same corner, Bradley has some work to do to get
back to his 2nd spot. 1 lap down, 7 to go and a little mishap from
Alyssa Ball as she gets herself stuff in the tire all the way out at turn 6,
however quickly fixing herself up before a marshal gets to her.
As
our drivers head down the main straight of the track Vlad.A gets overtaken by
Alex Rolley. Alex getting a great line through turn 8 and down the straight,
zooming right past Vlad. 4 laps to go now and there is only a 2 second gap
between 2nd David Ball and 1st Josh Wiffen, Josh showing
his experience as he carefully navigates through the damp track. A little bit
of bumping mid pack between Alex, Vlad and Peter as they battle it out for 3rd,
4th and 5th. Josh slowly catching up to Alyssa as they
both go around turn 5. Gong back to mid pack and Peter spins himself out at
turn 3 due to the slippery conditions, losing a spot and placing him in 6th.
Only
a few laps to go and Josh finally overtake Alyssa around turn 2, David Ball not
so far behind is right up behind Alyssa, also waiting for the right moment to
overtake. Coming down to the final lap and with the rain holding off the
checkered flag comes down for Josh Wiffen in 1st, David Ball in 2nd
and Alex Rolley for 3rd.
1st Josh Wiffen – 64.601
2nd David Ball – 64.202
3rd Alex Rolley – 65.037
And
that’s a wrap for another fun fuelled night of wet weather racing out here at
Kingston Park Raceway’s Friday Night Challenge. Hopefully the next one is a
little dryer for our drivers and hopefully you all come down and join us next
Friday for one hell of a night out!
