Friday Night Challenge 2018 - Week 10

Posted on March 13, 2018 by

Welcome to yet another fast-paced Friday Night Challenge event here at Kingston Park Raceway. With the 1100 meter Lemans track all prepped and ready for tonights drivers, tonight we saw the top 3 drivers from both of our groups race hard and fast, battling it out to take their positions for the Super Final here at the Raceway.

For the Super Final those drivers were Matt Hart, Clayton Unterrheiner, Kaleb B, Dion Domaschenz, Duane Moss and Matt S.

The drivers are all set and ready for what will be their final race for this evening, as they take their seats in their go-karts you can hear the drivers friends give their support and shout outs to the drivers. With all the go-kart engines fired up they all set out for the warm-up lap following the Pace-kart around the 1100 meter track. As the Pace-kart makes its way back into the pit lane, the 6 finalists continue down the main straight waiting for the lights down the end to go green to commence the Super Final of Friday Night Challenge.

Green Light goes and so do the 6 finalist as they race around the 1st corner of the track with Matt Hart leading the way as the rest of the drivers follow on behind. You can see a little niggle and nudge between the back drivers as they fight for their positions around the 4th corner of the Lemans track.  As the drivers make their way on to the main straight, again you can hear all their friends shout out their support as the drivers race off.

With 6 laps remaining Duane Moss made the slightest mistake which resulted in him being overtaken around turn 5 by Kaleb B to claim that 4th position with Dion Domaschenz trailing in 6th position, there is a 0.06714 second gap between Matt Hart who is in 1st position. On the 5th lap Matt Hart managed to pull off a 64.00 second lap from his go kart, following behind were drivers Clayton Unterrheiner (2nd) and Matt S (3rd).

With 3 laps remaining of the Super Final the gap between 1st and 2nd position is only 0.02169 seconds. Duane Moss (5th) has managed to catch up to Kaleb B (4th) touching and tapping the back of his go-kart.  Final Lap of Friday Night Challenges Super Final, driver Matt Hart showing his dominance throughout the race by maintaining his 1st position. As the chequered flag waves for Matt Hart, that concludes the Super Final. Such a great show of sportsmanship as the finalist congratulates one another for their effort though out that final race.

Final Results:
1st - Matt Hart
2nd - Clayton Unterrheiner
3rd - Matt S
4th – Kaleb B
5th Duane Moss
6th Dion Domaschenz
